explanation of artifacts
In the pictures above you can see that in unit 3 we learned how to letter and write the architectural way. It was kind of hard to write vertical and in upper case at first, but after a little bit you get a hang of it. This is the way architects write and how they communicate with each other.
reflection
I met this standard by reading the quotes provided and getting them down on the paper Mr. Grummer provided us with. We were given a four page packet with quotes typed on top with a series of lines after for space for us to write the quote out in architectural hand writing. At first this standard was a little bit hard to grasp because of the fact that everyone already has a certain way that they write. Learning a new way to write can be very difficult, especially at the ages we are at now. Once I started writing in all upper case I started to get a hang of it, and I had finally finished all the papers in the packet.
This standard has real- world application because in the real- world architects and engineers really do use this handwriting in their way of communication. Also, on floor plans and blue prints everything is written in upper case and vertical lettering.
This standard has inspired me to further discover the way that architects write and maybe start writing like that. It took a good minute for me to get used to this way of writing, but once I got the hang of it I was a natural. This standard has also inspired me to maybe have better hand writing. Personally my hand writing is very close together and certain letters look the same. This standard has opened my eyes to maybe writing to where it is actually legible.
